Fleur Boyle – About me

Fleur Boyle – Book illustrator – Underground cave

I studied woven textile design at Chelsea College of Art and Design in the early 1990’s. After my degree, I worked in various creative roles, mainly with Adults with Learning Disabilities. My occupation became more social work and less artwork. I went further in this field and qualified as a registered learning disability nurse from the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Southampton University. Work followed in forensic lead at a secure unit.

Our daughter was born with severe complications and a brain insult resulting in Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. I became her mother and carer, with life presenting a whole new set of experiences. Now in her teenage years and in full time education, I have set up a home studio. The internet has opened up a whole new world for artists and I am on a path of new discovery which is miles away from of art college education I experienced!

Creating my blog, this website and exploring the new landscape of social media offers me a way to show my work. I hope you enjoy visiting any of these platforms and feel free to post a comment or email me…
